Pamgrace Gachenge

Pamgrace Gachenge, a dedicated health advocate for sixteen years, stands as a champion of health equity and innovation. Her profound passion for health equity, combined with her business acumen and deep love for humanity, has driven the creation of innovative strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of care for minority communities.

Pamgrace holds a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Management from American University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland University College.

With diverse expertise encompassing health advocacy, healthcare management, talent acquisition, human capital, and business operations, Pamgrace plays key leadership roles, providing strategic counsel to organizations with revenues spanning from $3 million to a remarkable $780 million. As an innovative thinker and results-oriented leader, she thrives on problem-solving challenges and the joy of achieving success. Pamgrace skillfully employs research, data analytics, and human capital to enhance healthcare systems’ quality, productivity, and efficacy.

Pamgrace firmly believes that black and brown communities deserve access to high-quality preventative healthcare with measurable outcomes. Her inspiration stems from the memory of her late mother, a nurturing figure who excelled as a nurse, entrepreneur, and caregiver.

Dr. Howard Cook

D.O
Medical Director & Lead Physician
Dr. Howard Cook graduated with honors from Virginia State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, and a Master of Science degree in Medium Energy Nuclear Physics. He later graduated from Nova Southeastern University College with a degree in Osteopathic Medicine in 1998.
His post graduate medical training includes an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry College of Osteopathic Medicine (Rowan University) at Kennedy Memorial Hospital. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency through Frankford Hospital’s Aria Health Internal Medicine Residency Program. In addition, he also did several rotations at Hahnemann University Hospital.
Dr. Cook was awarded a full scholarship to medical school by the National Health Service Corps. As part of the program, he served as a primary care physician for an underserved community for four years. Dr. Cook has accomplished so much throughout his career including over a decade of intensive care unit work as a covering and rounding physician. He also did hospitalist work wherein he admitted and discharged patients as well as successfully responded to numerous emergency trauma situations. As an outpatient physician Dr. Cook has and continues to devote himself to providing excellent outpatient clinical care to all his patients.
Aside from being an accomplished physician, Dr. Cook is also an avid Martial artist and was on West Points karate team in 1982. He earned his black belt in World Federation Taekwondo in 1992 and later earned his brown belt in Judo in 2015 and also studies Aikido. He also competed in the Maryland Senior Olympics throwing discus and shot put where he won several medals. He is also a musician and enjoys playing the piano and several other instruments including the trombone, trumpet, and saxophone. He also enjoys photography during his spare time.

Gina Ritter

MSN, CRNP
Director of Clinical Operations & Growth Strategy
Gina Ritter brings over 20 years of clinical and operational leadership experience to the Director of Clinical Operations and Strategic Growth role at DiscoverU Health.
She is a certified Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (NP) with expertise in successful team building, driving key performance metrics, clinical program and workflow development, and implementing value-based models of care.
Previously, Gina served as Sr. Director of Strategic Initiatives and Sr. Director of Clinical Practice at Genesis HealthCare/Genesis Physician Services. During her 11-year tenure, Gina developed and expanded her team of Advanced Practice Providers across 7 states and focused on addressing the complex care needs of post-acute and LTC patients in a value-based care environment. She collaborated cross-functionally with executive leaders to advance organizational strategic priorities and achieve high-quality clinical outcomes.
Gina worked to develop provider specialty practices, including a national Palliative Care program and an Integrated Wound Care team. She led process improvement strategies that focused on utilization management and clinical quality metrics performance, resulting in significant cost savings in value-based care programs. Gina led the design of an End-of-Life (EOL) education strategy and developed a structured curriculum for all providers, to improve the care of patients with advanced illnesses which resulted in a reduction of EOL hospitalizations.
Gina received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland. She is passionate about promoting access to care and positively impacting patients’ quality of life, health, and well-being. She looks forward to collaborating with an innovative and engaged team! In Gina’s free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters and their puppy, Finn

Dr. T. Victoria Proctor

DNP, FNP-C
Director of Holistic & Cannabis Medicine
Dr. Proctor has been a Holistic Health and Wellness professional for over 30 years. A native New Yorker, she received her education in Maryland. She attended Frostburg State College receiving her BS degree in Psychology and went on to complete a nursing degree at The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. In her quest to understand how to help others achieve healthy lifestyles, she completed a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Maryland at College Park, received her license as a Massage therapist, a certification as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a specialization in Family Practice from the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Proctor was nominated three times for Baltimore’s Best Nurse — Excellence in Nursing Award and received the honor twice in 2017 and 2019.
Dr. Proctor has excellent clinical and communication skills and a clear understanding of the sincere need for preventive care in health promotion and disease prevention. She has a strong professional interest and background in cardiovascular disease/physiology, metabolism, and type II diabetes. She believes in the Mind-Body approach to health, wellness, and education. If the mind has an appreciation for what the body can do…lifetime health can be achieved. She firmly believes that the only way we will have an impact on the health crisis facing this country is to commit ourselves to teaching and guiding individuals (especially the most at risk) on how to make small life-style changes for long-term health gain. Her motto is, “small steps…great gains!”
Dr Proctor enjoys gardening, caring for her house plants, and tending to her indoor worm bin! She loves all sports especially cycling, running, and weight training. She is a three-time nominated “most outstanding runner,” a seven-time All- American track star, NCAA Division III National Champion and a record setter who has been inducted into Frostburg State’s Athletic Hall of Fame. And a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc.

Dr. Ava Williams

DNP, MS, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC
Director of Population Health & Home Care
Dr. Williams has ten years of clinical nursing experience and has served in various nursing roles in acute care and community health, including research, inpatient care, public health, management, quality improvement, and regulatory positions. Dr. Williams is a family nurse practitioner with a focus on gerontology, she earned her MSN and DNP from George Washington University.
Dr. Williams is passionate about improving access to care in underserved and vulnerable communities. She aspires to influence the field of nursing through scholarship, leadership, and research.
Dr. Williams has current research involves designing a telehealth medication management and reconciliation study to address polypharmacy (deprescribing medication), patient safety, and person-centered communication for community-dwelling seniors under treatment for diabetes, metabolic disorders, and cardiovascular disease —to improve care, shared decision making, quality of life, and disease control. Dr. Williams loves to travel, and her favorite place to travel to is the Caribbean.
Dr. Williams is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau, and the International Honor Society of Nursing.

Cherissa Jackson

Cherissa Jackson served 23 years of active-duty military service with 10 of those years as an U.S. Air Force Nurse. She is a veteran of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, having served a total of 3 combat deployments where she honed her expertise as a battlefield clinician. She is known as “America’s Combat Nurse” because of her extensive combat experience.
Following her honorable service, Jackson became an ambassador and advocate for persons with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She was inducted into the SHEROES United Organization Hall of Fame and traveled to Rome, Italy in November 2016 in order to collaborate with the Vatican, the Nation of Congo, and the city of Amatrice, Italy to help advance a global discussion on eliminating stigmas associated with PTSD. She has a non-profit that saves the lives of women from cervical cancer called “Project Give Hope” and has travelled internationally to Uganda in 2017, and 2018.
Jackson is the author of Amazon best seller, “At Peace Not in Pieces,” a bestselling memoir that outlines her principles of coping with her own PTSD challenges as a combat veteran and nurse. She was named one of “25 Individuals of Influence” in the June 2018 issue of PTSD magazine and joined the HillVets 100 list of top influencers of 2018. Cherissa also won the “Daily Record Top 100 Maryland Women for 2016” for her efforts with PTSD. Cherissa was awarded the first “Passion Award” at the AVB 2019 (American Veterans Ball). She is 2020’s recipient of “The Vettys” (Veterans Award) for excellence in Mental Health. Cherissa won the “Star Nurses Nightingale Award” amongst 600 nominees in September 2020. This award was a collaboration between Washington Post and American Nurses Association. Most recently, she become one of the founding members of the “Black Nurse Collaborative”.
She was Chief Medical Executive at AMVETS (American Veterans), one of the largest Veteran Service Organization in the country for 4 years. She led the organization’s HEAL Program, which strived to confront the risk factors that lead to crisis and veteran suicide. She created the “Veterans’ Alternative Healthcare Summit” in 2021 featuring speakers across the world discussing the benefits of cannabis for Veterans. There were over 25K engagements in this 8 hour conference. Cherissa is a trailblazer for which other Veteran Service Organizations are following her lead.
Cherissa holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of graduated with her MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland.
She launched “We Decode LLC” on 4/20/2022. This is her cannabis business that is mapping medicine’s healthiest outcomes using DNA sequencing. Her wellness reports and precise cannabinoid matching is saving customers time and money. The website is: www.wedecode.me Cherissa was featured in the August 2022 and December 2022 edition of “High Times” Magazine and the Baltimore Business Journal. She recently caught the attention of Amazon BEN and Atlanta Hawks who supported “Operation Give Hope” to provide the DNA kits to Veterans. She also received a generous donation of Martha Stewart’s CBD gummies from Canopy Growth Distribution Company to distribute to her network. Most recently Cherissa appeared on the cover of “Cannabis & Tech Today” magazine with a 3 page article. The magazine was showcased at the 2023 NECANN cannabis conference. The magazine appeared on newsstands on April 6, 2023. Her technology was named “Top 50 Most Innovative Products” in Innovation & Tech magazine.

Julius V Maina J.D., MA

Julius currently serves as the Head of Community for 1863 Ventures. In this role he leads 1863’s efforts to deliver growth-oriented support, tools, resources, and experiences to 1863 Ventures alumni companies and New Majority Community “NMC” entrepreneurs nation-wide. Prior to this role Julius served as an Investment Associate for Techstars DC powered by J.P. Morgan and as Chief of Staff/Director of Special projects at gener8tor. In both roles, he worked to champion strategies for sourcing, investing, and supporting historically underestimated founders located in undercapitalized markets.

Prior to working in VC, Julius worked in federal government as a Policy & Inclusive Innovation Specialist at the Minority Business Development Agency and as a Supervisory Partnership Specialist at the U.S. Census Bureau. 

He holds a J.D. from University of Baltimore School of law, M.A. from Bowie State University and B.A. in Quantitative Methods, economics minor, from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Meedie L Bardonille

(Wife, Mother, Nursing Leader, Speaker, Health and Wellness Advocate)
Meedie L. Bardonille is a dynamic nursing leader, innovator, and results-oriented professional with a deep commitment to patient care and the advancement of nursing. Currently serving as the Divisional Director of Medical Surgical Nursing at The George Washington University Hospital, Meedie brings over two decades of experience in the acute-care setting, specifically as a cardiac ICU nurse.
Meedie understands that true patient care goes beyond mastering the latest medical technology. It's about connecting with patients during their most vulnerable times, employing empathy, and combining intelligence with clinical expertise and heartfelt compassion. Her focus on the patient experience has made her a trusted and respected figure in healthcare.
In addition to her role at MedStar, Meedie serves as the Chair of the Washington, D.C. Board of Nursing, where she provides regulatory oversight for over 46,000 nursing professionals in the District. Her involvement with esteemed organizations such as the American Nurses Association (ANA), National Black Nurses Association, Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority, Inc., and the National Council of State Board of Nursing (NCSBN) demonstrates her dedication to advancing the nursing profession.
Recognized for her contributions, Meedie was inducted into the Gamma Beta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing in April 2020. Her commitment to civic duty is evident through her participation as a member of the 15th Electoral College of the District of Columbia during the 2020 United States Presidential Election. She was also elected as an official for the Ward 5 DC Democratic Committee, further showcasing her dedication to public service.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Meedie actively contributes to her community. She is an engaged member of the Washington, D.C. Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization. Her involvement with organizations like Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and Food & Friends, Inc. exemplifies her commitment to improving the quality of life for children and underserved communities.
As a nurse entrepreneur, Meedie is the principal managing partner of Afya Wellness Solutions, LLC, a company focused on positively impacting the social determinants of health in underserved communities. In 2022, she founded The Black Nurse Collective Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization that empowers expert Black nurses to promote health and wellness, mentorship, coaching, and drive sustainable change.
Meedie's passion for health extends beyond her profession. She is an avid runner and has completed numerous marathons, half-marathons, and races. Running serves as her "happy place," where she competes against herself and prioritizes her own health and wellness.
Meedie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Howard University and a Master of Science degree in nursing leadership and administration from Jacksonville University. Originally from Easton, Pennsylvania, she is happily married to her husband Anthony, and they are raising their teenage son, Anthony Jr., who brings them immense joy.

Sharix Alicea Esq, MBA

Sharix Alicea, Esq., M.B.A. is an attorney that focuses on business growth, including the strategic purchase, sale, and expansion of businesses. She also forecasts potential problems and assists clients with strategizing and employing preventative solutions.

Sharix assists clients with negotiating and drafting contracts related to sophisticated business transactions involving corporate formation, private funds and managed account platforms, and franchising. Sharix advises and guides clients through the legal issues related to strategy, mergers and acquisitions, structure and reorganizations, and commercial real estate transactions. She represents middle-market companies in the negotiation of commercial contracts, leveraging her attention to detail to ensure that documentation reflects the commercial realities of the market and supports her clients’ end goals.

Alexander K. Austin

Alexander K. Austin, is a results-driven and dynamic business leader, offering 20 (+) years expertise in diverse fields ranging from, Workforce Development, Business Acquisitions/Advisory Services, Business to Consumer solutions & Entrepreneurship.
Alexander is the President and CEO of the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization representing the businesses of Prince George’s County. Operating as one of the largest chambers in the state of Maryland and the Washington Metropolitan region.
Known as an Intrapreneurial & Entrepreneurial Leader! Alexander has created a unique portfolio of diverse skills and achievements ranging from creating newproducts & services for the local market, owning operating a professional sports franchise, publishing a book, as well as advising mid-market company acquisition and capital raise strategies.

Maryland Senator Nick Charles

Senator Charles is a lifelong Prince Georgian and graduate of the Prince George’s County Public School System. A proud father of two and Air Force Veteran, Delegate Charles was first elected to the Maryland General Assembly representing District 25 in 2018 and re-elected to his second term during 2022. He has been unanimously elected by his peers twice to serve as the Chairman of the illustrious Prince George’s County House Delegation, the 2nd largest County Delegation in the State. In 2023, Speaker Adrienne Jones appointed Delegate Charles to serve as Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, which supports 102 Members out of 141 in the House of Delegates. Serving in the Ways and Means Committee, he was also appointed by the Speaker to serve as the Chairman of the Local Revenues Sub-Committee, overseeing all aspects of local and County revenues and taxation. Appointed to the Maryland Senate on December 5, 2023, Senator Charles is dedicated to fostering the growth and resilience of Maryland and its communities. Dr. Jay Snipes

Chief, Diversity and Business Inclusion
Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC)
Jay Snipes is the Chief for Diversity and Business Inclusion at FDIC, currently leading the Financial Institution Diversity program along with the Women & Minority Outreach and Fair Inclusion Programs. His programs evaluate interagency standards to assess FDIC-supervised financial institutions’ diversity policies and practices to promote progressive and promising practices that advance diversity. In addition, Dr. Snipes ensures the fair inclusion of Minority and Women-Owned Businesses and Investors in FDIC contracting and business activities and evaluates whether FDIC contractors are demonstrating good-faith efforts to include minorities and women in their workforce.
Dr. Snipes has extensive experience leading transformational change –providing executive leadership on organizational culture, diversity, equity, inclusion, and also has served as the principal advisor on civil rights and diversity public policy planning – development, formulation, issuance, and policy evaluation for governmental and non-profit organizations.
Jay has made a personal commitment to diversity, inclusion, social justice, and mentoring that reflects in both his personal life and career. He is a requested resource at conferences, speaking engagements, and international colloquiums to discuss various topics on project management, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Dr. Snipes has his Doctorate in Business Administration and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Professional (PMI-ACP). In 2022, Jay was selected as a Top 40 Under 40 in Birmingham, AL a designation for the city’s most influential leaders and successful entrepreneurs. In 2021 Dr. Snipes was also selected to the White House Leadership Development Program sponsored by the Executive Office of the President and the President’s Management Council designed to support the work of Cross Agency Priority teams.
True to his commitment to diversity, inclusion, social justice, and mentoring, Dr. Snipes has established multiple non-profits to support youth and disadvantaged communities. He currently serves on the Executive Board of Childcare Resources, a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure the quality care and education of children through education and assistance to families. Jay enjoys spending time with his family, and in his downtime, he can be seen chauffeuring his kids around to multiple sporting and school events.

L. Latéy Bradford MD, Phd

L. Latéy Bradford, MD, PhD is a Family Physician and Core Faculty attending at the University of Maryland Capital Region Health in Prince George’s county. Dr. Bradford provides comprehensive primary care for all members of the family, with a specialty in obstetrics and newborn care. She has a wealth of experience working with underserved communities and addressing complex healthcare needs through a social justice lens. She is passionate about dismantling health inequities, particularly as it relates to maternal and infant health. Dr. Bradford aims to apply a community-based primary care model to partner with patients, interdisciplinary teams, and community-based organizations to deliver high quality and equitable health care.

Ashley Sharp

Ashley N. Sharp is a lifelong Maryland resident, Prince George’s native and graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park. As Deputy Chief of Staff to MD Labor Secretary Portia Wu, she leads in employee engagement, coordinating internal and external events to include advance work for Governor Moore, supporting operations of the Office and advising on any of the Secretary’s strategic priorities. Prior to joining the Department of Labor team, she founded her own company, Resurgence Consulting, LLC specializing in political consulting, strategic communications and event & conference management. She also founded the Marlboro Pike Partnership, CDC which focuses on revitalizing the Marlboro Pike corridor in Prince George’s County. Over the last decade, she built her career in Government & Politics working at County, State and Federal levels of government serving Prince George’s County. She is passionate about building community through collaborative partnerships to solve social issues for those most in need. She is also a co-owner of Market Fresh Gourmet – a minority-owned, full-service grocery chain working to alleviate food deserts in underserved communities.

Dr. Howard Crumpton

Howard Crumpton, PhD is the owner and CEO of Reach Out Therapy, LLC, and part-owner of ekoe Healing, both of which are mental health practices that operate out of Maryland and Virginia, respectively. Dr. Crumpton earned his undergraduate degree at Hampton University, and his Masters in Education and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia.
After earning his doctoral degree, Dr. Crumpton spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Kennedy Krieger Institute within the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Maryland. There, he trained in the Behavior Management and the Child and Family Therapy clinics, providing multisystemic support to parents, medical professionals and educators in addressing emotional, behavioral, social and academic problems in children and adolescents. Dr. Crumpton served as a Spanish-English bilingual staff psychologist and key contributor to the development of the Primary Care Behavioral Health Services at the Children’s National Health System, where he provided family-focused therapy, assessment and behavioral health consultations in collaboration with medical professionals within and outside the hospital system. He has also served as a psychological evaluator at The MECCA Group, LLC, a private practice in Washington, DC owned and operated by Drs. Keisha Mack and Mercedes Ebanks. Dr. Crumpton provided mental health and consultative services for families as a family psychologist at Encore Recovery Services in Arlington, Va, a substance recovery start-up that provides young adults and their families with holistic cutting-edge services to address substance addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Dr. Crumpton currently serves as an Advisor for Get A-Head, a telehealth technology company that helps practitioners train, measure and improve the effectiveness in the delivery of care. He also enjoys being active in his professional community, serving as the Member-at-Large for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences, and frequently collaborates with the Black Physicians’ Health Network as a provider.
Dr. Crumpton currently resides in the Washington, DC area with his wife and three children. In his spare time, Dr. Crumpton listens to music, coaches rugby, practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, travels with his family and plays video games.
